EXPERIENCE DURING POSYANDU ACTIVITIES

By: Amanda Fauziah Azis

Let me introduce myself, my name is Amanda from Kedensari Village. Here I will tell you about my experience while I was carrying out posyandu activities in GANGGANG PANJANG VILLAGE. Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) is a form of Community-Resourced Health Effort carried out by, from and with the community, to empower and provide convenience for the community to obtain health services for mothers, babies and toddlers. This Posyandu activity was held from January 8 to February 14. These posyandu consist of toddler posyandu, elderly posyandu, mental health posyandu, polio clinic, and pregnant women's class, and posyandu parks or visits to kindergarten schools. Here I will tell you about my experience while participating in this activity.

Starting from the first, namely POSYANDU BALITA. Here it is clear that the name is posyandu toddler so the patients are definitely toddlers, this posyandu toddler consists of checking height and weight, apart from that there are registration activities, filling out the KMS book, and providing food, here I am and My friends from SMK SEPULUH NOPEMBER majoring in health were willing to help with this activity. In this activity, my friends and I replaced the position of the midwife and her cadre. My friends and I consist of 6 people and we divide the tasks to handle these activities. each action such as measuring height is handled by 2 people and other actions are also like that.

When my friends and I were carrying out activities, there were lots of cute and adorable toddlers, but there were also many who were fussy and cried when their height and weight were measured, but the way my friends and I handled this was by giving them food. these toddlers, such as milk, bananas, bread, and so on. In my opinion, the experience at the toddler posyandu is very enjoyable because you can meet cute children, but there is also a feeling of tiredness because when they whine or cry it makes us tired hihihi.

Next is the POSYANDU ELDERLY activity, yes, that's right, it's called posyandu for the elderly, the patients on average are all ages. In my experience during this posyandu for the elderly, I gained a lot of new knowledge from the cadres and midwives. What I mean by experience is that I can and I understand how to deal with the elderly and fortunately in the village I went to, the elderly did not ask anything strange. or you could call it fussy hehehe. Apart from that, at this elderly posyandu I got experience, namely checking the health of the elderly starting from checking blood pressure, checking blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid levels, measuring height and weight. And don't forget that we also give them food. For me, this is an experience that will leave an impression on my mind because it is my first time personally entering the world of society.

Next is POSYANDU JIWA. So, what is meant by Posyandu Jiwa is that we bring in patients who can be said to have lost their minds or have ODGJ. When I carried out this activity, thank God, none of the patients were angry or angry, they were kind and obedient. At this posyandu, my friends and I were given the mandate to check them, starting from registration, weighing them, checking their temperature, giving medicine and giving them food. At first my friends and I were a little afraid because they looked fierce, but it turned out they were good and we I had time to chat with them. But because this is a mental health post and perhaps none of them wanted to come and yesterday only a few people came.

Next was the PIN POLIO activity. For me and my friends, this activity was very energy-draining because the residents and patients were very busy and numerous because everyone who came was from the long algae village who had babies and toddlers. The Pin Polio activity consists of giving drops of medication into the toddler's mouth, giving signs in the form of action on the toddler's hand, and giving food to village residents. My friends and I participated in helping the midwives so that their work was easier, my friend and I helping to sign toddlers' hands, counting the number of toddlers who came, helping with registration, and helping with food. And my friends and I also helped comfort toddlers who wanted to be given drops but instead cried and didn't want to. I felt happy and at the same time tired from facing the surrounding community.

Next is the Taman Posyandu activity, which is carried out at the kindergarten school. My friends and I visited the kindergarten school to play and greet them. and what is meant by play is that we invite them to count, invite them to sing, recite the Koran, and guess animals or fruit. They were very enthusiastic about answering all the quizzes that my friends and I gave, and if they could answer the questions they would get prizes in the form of chocolate snacks and other things. But my friends and I sometimes get tired because we deal with young children who like to play, joke around and don't obey. Many of them also cried and didn't want to answer questions. And indeed I felt happy and sad when teaching them and I felt like I was getting experience that I had not had before namely teaching school children. I hope that in this CSS activity my friends and I can continue to help the people in this long algae village until we finish the task. And I am grateful to the midwives and cadres who really care about me and my friends. My friends and I hope that even though we are no longer working there, we as students can still visit the village of Gagang Panjang and say hello to all the midwives and cadres who we really love. That's all I can say on the theme of my experience during this posyandu. THANK YOU!!
