Serving and Inspiring Through KKN: A Journey of Empowerment in Luwung Hamlet

Hello everyone!

Let me introduce myself my name is Ezza Wahyu Indrianto. I am one of the students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) from Narotama University Surabaya. In this KKN activity, I am part of a group consisting of 11 students. We are honored to carry out community service in Ganggangpanjang Village, specifically in Luwung Hamlet, Sidoarjo Regency.

Our KKN activities began with an official opening ceremony held on May 14, 2025. The event was solemn yet lively, attended by village officials, local residents, and our field supervisor from the university. This opening moment marked an important first step in building good communication with the community and introducing the work programs we plan to carry out during our time in the village.

Following the opening ceremony, we began implementing various work programs that had been previously designed. One of our initial activities was assisting with administrative services at the village hall. We were directly involved in document processing and other administrative tasks. Although simple, this experience was very valuable as we gained first-hand insight into how public service systems operate at the village level.

Beyond administrative work, we also aimed to make a broader impact, particularly in developing the potential of the younger generation. Therefore, on May 18, 2025, we held a sharing session with the theme “Content Creation and Personal Branding.” In this session, we shared knowledge and experiences about how to become creative content creators and how to build a positive personal image in the digital era. The participants were actively engaged, asking questions and discussing the vast opportunities available in today’s digital world.

As a follow up to the session, we announced a creative video competition open to all residents of the village, with exciting prizes prepared for the winners. We hope this event will spark creativity among the locals and encourage them to confidently showcase the village's potential through social media.

What’s also interesting is that during our time in the KKN program, we discovered that Luwung Hamlet has great potential as a local tourism destination. The hamlet features a tourist spot offering various entertainment options and attractions, such as local culinary specialties, fun games, live music performances by local artists, and many other engaging activities. This tourism site demonstrates the rich culture and creativity of the community, which undoubtedly deserves to be further developed and promoted to a wider audience.

Through this KKN experience, I personally feel very grateful for the opportunity to learn and contribute directly within the community. I hope that all the programs we carry out will bring real benefits to the people of Ganggangpanjang Village and become an unforgettable experience for us all.
